Population Based Cancer Registry (PBCR) of district Gautam Budha Nagar

Population-Based Cancer Registry (PBCR) at ICMR – National Institute of Cancer Prevention & Research (ICMR-NICPR) covers the rural and urban population of Gautam Buddh Nagar (G.B. Nagar) district of Uttar Pradesh. The registry was started in the year 2017.

Population Covered- 1,674,714 (Census, 2011)

Area Covered-  1269 sq. km.

Methodology:

Case Definition – Cancer cases registered needs to be a resident of Gautam Budh Nagar district, UP for at least one year. Cancer sites determined as per ICD (International Classification of Disease) 10 coding currently, in uniformity with other cancer registries.

Data sources are Hospital Records: Main data source is hospital record of Indoor patients, Out Patient department (OPD) Data and from lab records. Data collection from various sources of registration is done by Medical Social Workers.

Data collected on demographic details name, age, sex, permanent address, duration or stay in Gautam Budha Nagar, site of cancer, diagnostic modality used to diagnose, histological type of cancer, date of report, cancer stage are recorded. Data submitted online to ICMR-NCDIR for report preparation after duplicate removal and quality checks.

Total 9634 new cases and 922 deaths registered at PBCR, Noida for the year 2016-2021.
