Elimination of Cervical Cancer: Initiatives in India

Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization of the Department of Science and Technology, Government India, engaged in large-scale science communication and popularization activities in the country is organizing a lecture programme on Science, Technology, Innovation and Policy (STIP) in collaboration with Research and Information System in Developing Countries (RIS).

A STIP Forum, a collaborative effort of RIS, IHC, TERI, CSE, and CEFIPRA along with Vigyan Prasar organise  Lecture Series to sensitize Public Discourse on developments related to science, technologies, and innovations policies in India.

The India government recently announced that it will begin a nationwide immunization drive in April 2023 for girls aged between 9 and 14 years, using a newly developed vaccine targeting human papilloma virus (HPV), the main cause of cervical cancer and a potential cause of other cancers.

As a renowned scientist and leading the research in cancer prevention of a prestigious institution, we would take this opportunity to invite you for a talk  on  Prevention is better than cure: Cervical Cancer – an epidemic in-offing.

It would be our great honour to invite you to the esteemed STIP Lecture programme.

We would like to organise the lecture on 29th March 2023 or 31st March 2023, depending on your availability. The programme will be held online.
