BIOS: I am a trained Population Health researcher with over a decade of work experience in conceptualization, design and execution of research studies concerning cancer prevention, tobacco control, non-communicable diseases and its risk factors, social determinants of health and maternal and child health. Presently, I work as a Scientist-D at ICMR-National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research (ICMR-NICPR), Noida. I am Nodal Officer of the WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on Smokeless Tobacco. Before joining ICMR-NICPR I worked with TERI University (India), Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (Germany) and Institute for Human Development (India). I received prestigious Max Planck-India Fellow award from the Max Planck Society (Germany) and also invited by the British Society for Population Studies, LSE (UK) as a young  researcher. I was part of the 14 members ‗Global Equity Review Group‘ constituted by the World Health Organization (WHO), Geneva to assess global progress in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health and Ageing. I have published 75 manuscripts in reputed international journals including Lancet, BMJ, Social Science and
Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Health Policy and Planning, The Gerontologist, American Journal of Hypertension amongst others.
Research Interests: Cancer prevention, tobacco control, substance use, noncommunicable diseases, social determinants of health and nutrition, gender gaps in health and survival, maternal and child health
