BIOS: Trained public health specialist with wide ranging experience in teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students, patient management, epidemiology, research, biostatistics along with various areas of health and public policy including non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, geriatric health, developing & implementing health interventions and health system strengthening. I have a deep understanding of health and development issues, gathered over working across rural and remote hard to reach areas in India. I have experience of handling research projects funded by national organizations including ICMR, DBT in fields of tobacco, cardiovascular diseases etc. My PG dissertation titled: “Prevalence of risk factors of cardiovascular diseases among students aged 13 -16 years studying in urban schools of Dibrugarh district, Assam” was funded by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi and Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and its findings were presented at the national level and was awarded the best scientific paper by a young scientist.
Research Interests: Non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, community-based screening.
