Dr. Smita Asthana

BIOS: Dr. Smita Asthana, MD (Community Medicine), is currently working with ICMRNational Institute of Cancer Prevention & Research, Noida as Scientist E and having 16
years of working experience in Cancer Epidemiology & Biostatistics. She is a Course Coordinator of the Biostatistics and Epidemiology Training Centre. She also contributed to
National and International funded research projects in cancer research. She is presently the Principal Investigator of Population-based cancer registry project for GB Nagar, Noida of ICMR-NICPR and Co-PI of various research projects. She had received several awards for the best work in cancer epidemiology, such as ICMR’s prestigious award “M. K.
Seshadri” on 2016 for the best work and Dr Nandagudi Suryanarayana Rao Award in 2019 from the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) for best paper in Oral
Cancer. She is having more than 50 publications in reputed medical journals, both National and International
