BIOS: Trained public health specialist with wide-ranging experience in teaching and training undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, patient management, epidemiology, research, and biostatistics along with various areas of health and public policy including non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, geriatric health, developing & implementing health interventions and health system strengthening. I have a deep understanding of health and development issues, gathered over working across rural and remote hard-to-reach areas in India. I have experience of handling research projects funded by national organizations including ICMR, and DBT in the fields of tobacco, cardiovascular diseases etc. My PG was funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and its findings were presented at the national level and were awarded the best scientific paper by a young scientist. My research interests include designing strategies for the prevention of non-communicable diseases and community-based screening and prevention of cancer.
